What a time we have had is getting things set up for the first Dunoon Scottish Music Workshop. The Burgh Hall is only just refurbished and some of the rooms are only now becoming habitable, and the excitement has already started. We have had so much advice from well-known musicians and from folk who regularly attend workshops about the pitfalls awaiting the unwary, that we are now able to build up a strong pattern what works best from the point of view of those attending.
Without the help of Alistair McCulloch we would have had a real problem realising our aims, but he has kept us sane with his proactive approach.
We now have 70% of our places let, and have taken the decision that for whatever reason accordionists are not attracted to this sort of Workshop, so have now firmed up on three Tutors: Fiddle, Whistle and Guitar. We're running an ad in "Box and Fiddle" to try to find these elusive 30% - So spread the word!
